I'm A Telly Addict!

I’ve become addicted to a TV show; it’s not a soap or a reality show – well not the sort of reality show that makes a fortune for Simon Cowell! It’s called South Pacific and it’s on BBC2 on Sunday evenings (it’s repeated on Tuesday). It’s the BBC doing what they do best – brilliant nature programmes. South Pacific takes us on an amazing journey through the world’s largest ocean and the thousands of islands it contains. It features some amazing creatures and fascinating cultures, all beautifully filmed. Check it out for yourself on Sunday night on BBC2. In the meantime here’s a clip from the show; it’s about 5 minutes long but well worth the time.

Enjoy!

Showbuzz - Beautiful Britney!!!

So Britney's back in the gossip pages today thanks to her financial affairs- the star earned 7.6 million last year but managed to spend 6.7 million in 11 months with most of her money going on legal fees. You may remember she was constantly being pictured heading in and out of court!! The star is also spending a good chunk on security and staff. Her security is definitely intense - it's been revealed that when she comes to play London she will stay in the Dorchester hotel with her security sleeping outside her room every night!!

On a separate note I noticed this picture of her today, it was taken last Saturday in LA and I think it's one of the best pics I've seen of the star in a long, long time! She's looking fit, tanned and healthy. Nice dress too!!

Don't forget, Dublin's Q102's Annual On-Air Charity Auction starts at 10am on Sunday!

Why should you tune in on Sunday?

2. We have loads and loads of exciting "lots" for you to bid on (for instance, how about tickets to see U2 at one of their SOLD OUT Summer concerts at Croker?!)

3. It'll be a fun day!

Thanks in advance for your help & support,

Talk you Sunday at 10!

Dublin's Favourite Sandwich!!

Tonight on 'On the QT' we were looking for Dublin's favourite sandwich filling as part of National Sandwich Week! While most of you were pretty normal in your culinary tastes, here are some of the dubious favourite fillings:

Salad Cream & Cornflake Sandwich, with butter & sugar
Tuna & nuts!
Sliced white batch with Brussell sprouts
Onion, egg, banana, tomato & King crisps
Smoked horse meat & sugar (I kid you not!!)
Weatabix with butter
Fried Potatoes & Cabbage in brown bread
Chips, crisps, ketchup & jam with regular butter on fresh batch!

So what's yours?!!

Fast Carr

It looks like Jimmy Carr learned a thing or two from The Stig when he was a guest on Top Gear....Unfortunately his newfound knowledge has landed him in trouble as he appeared in court yesterday on a speeding charge. Not clever!

The reports said he posed for photographers outside the court but this is the only picture I could find

Initially I thought "he doesn't look much like he's posing" but then I realised this is probably positively jovial for Jimmy Carr!

No word yet as to whether or not the judge will turn him into Jimmy Public Transport for a while!

Welcome Samuel Beckett!!

After 2 false starts over the last few days, the new Samuel Beckett bridge finally made it through the East Link at around 2.45 this afternoon... we made the short stroll from Dublin's Q102 new studios down to have a look and took a few pictures as well - we weren't the only ones interested either - there were at least 300 people gathered around the East Link, up the quays and on the south side of the Liffey too... Expect to see lots of great pictures and coverage of this over the next day or two in the national papers and tv but the pictures you'll see above are our little piece of Dublin history! Enjoy!

Christy & The Boys do John Lennon!

We LOVE Aslan's cover of "Jealous Guy"!

Watch the video here

Enjoy!

Welcome Samuel Beckett!!

We've just strolled down the street to the East Link to have a look at the new Samuel Beckett bridge which is going to be brought into the docklands tonight at 2am... It was a little far away and the pic is a weeeeeeeeeeeee bit blurry but hopefully we'll be able to take better pictures tomorrow as it will be virtually outside of our front door here at Dublin's Q102! By the way if you are planning on taking a trip across the East Link tonight after midnight then don't - it be closed as the bridge will be lifted to accommodate the sailing in of the new bridge...! Best of luck to all involved!

Technology's gone to the dogs.

I’m on the More Music Breakfast Show this week while Debbie suns herself so I was looking around the internet for some gossip and other stuff to tell you about this morning. I came across a piece about “dog photography” not photos of dogs but photos taken by dogs!! I thought “this is fantastic, how cool would it be to teach your dog to use the camera”. There was even a video!!

I was so disappointed….have a look at the video yourself – but be prepared for a letdown!
