What a Waste!

I was in a shop in town earlier today and noticed this.....


Yes that IS a HEATER DIRECTLY OVER THE OPEN DOOR!

Now I've seen (or rather felt) these in hundreds of other places before - but it just dawned on me today - what a stupid waste of energy!

Why is it done? I assume to give customers a quick "blast" of heat as they enter the premises.

Shouldn't there be a law against this kind of stupidity?!
