The 20ft by 10ft basket contains over 100 different varieties of plants and flowersand has been nicknamed 'The Hanging Gardens of Paddington'.
The basket weighs over a quarter of a tonne and it took over three weeks to make and eight hours to winch into position.
It hangs 25 ft from the ground outside the new Hotel Indig in Paddington.
Karin Nielsen, the hotel’s spokesperson said: "the new hotel is all about unique design, bold colours and seasonal changes, so what better way to mark its arrival than by creating the world's largest hanging basket?”
The designers took their inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and they say they hope their hanging garden will become a wonder of London.
You’d be well advised to stand clear when it’s being watered!
